A journey that became help

In May 2023, Belén traveled to Uganda with a small group from her travel agency in Spain. While organizing the trip, she asked her local supplier to include a visit to a community, and that is how she first arrived at Katunguru.
Before leaving Spain, she gathered supplies from her town that would otherwise have gone to waste. She collected 400 packs of toothpaste, medicine from local pharmacies, notebooks, pencils, and toys. She arranged extra luggage to carry everything with her to Uganda.
During her visits in May and again in October, she brought her groups to the community, where they spent time with the children and the school staff. The visits became an important part of the journey.
When she returned to Spain, she shared photos and videos from the experience with her travelers and local supporters. Some of them decided to contribute with donations. On her second trip, she brought additional supplies and continued building a connection between her travelers and the school, helping more people become involved in supporting the community.
“When I arrived with the suitcases and saw their reaction, I knew I wanted to continue helping.”
